TOOL CHANGER/SETTER

 

Working a two-shift system (8 hours mornings/afternoons), changing tooling on rubber and plastic moulding machines. Installation of rubber and plastics mould tools.

Salary rate of £10.50 - £12.50/hour depending on experience and qualifications.

 

Key tasks for the role include:

  • Installation of rubber and plastics mould tools from moulding machines.
  • Preparation of moulding tools prior to installation, including cleaning and date coding.
  • Working with other members of the production department to form an effective production team.
  • Liaising with the tool room to schedule repairs to damaged tooling.
  • Setting of moulding presses after tooling installation where required.
  • Maintaining the Tool changers’ work area in accordance with 5S principles.
  • Assisting in improvement initiatives in all areas of the company as part of cross-functional teams.
  • Other work (not related to tool changing but required by the undertakings of the company) as required from time to time.

 

Essential Skills:

  • Substantial experience in a professional mechanical engineering role.
  • The ability to learn and understand the production process.
  • Good spoken and written English.
  • Reasonable mathematical skills.
  • The ability to work well as part of a team.

 

The ideal candidate will also have:

  • Have prior experience of tool changing injection moulding machines.
  • Have prior experience of working under quality systems such as ISO9001, TS16949 or similar.
  • Have a desire to improve both themselves and their processes.
  • Be able to lead a small team to assist with continuous improvement.

PRODUCTION OPERATORS

 

At its highest grade, the role offers a rate of £9.50/hour plus shift allowance (annually reviewed). Full training in the requirements of the role will be given. Also the opportunity for further professional training and for the right candidate, the possibility of further advancement within the company.

 

Key tasks for the role include:

  • Setting up, operating and shutting down a production approved rubber moulding process (after tooling is installed).
  • Where expected cycle times and/or defect levels cannot be achieved, assessing available information to determine possible special causes and where practicable, resolving them.
  • Working with other members of the production department to form an effective production team.
  • Communicating with the shift management team to ensure issues beyond the scope of available settings and method are resolved promptly.
  • Maintaining the work area in accordance with 5S principles.
  • Assisting in improvement initiatives in all areas of the company as part of cross-functional teams.
  • Other work (not related to machine operation but required by the undertakings of the company) as required from time to time.

PURCHASING ASSISTANT

 

Key tasks for the role include:

  • Maintaining strong, positive working relationships with our vendors
  • Manage and co-ordinate the sourcing of new materials and equipment.
  • Raising and managing purchase orders through to the acceptance of goods and contacting suppliers when there are discrepancies
  • Assisting the accounts departments with purchase ledger queries.
  • Staying up to date with industry trends and establish long-term purchasing arrangements with vendors when it is beneficial to the company
  • Essential updating of the Efacs system
  • Review existing purchasing agreements with vendors

 

Essential Skills:

  • 2 years minimum experience in a Purchasing role
  • Proven history of effective supply management
  • Strong computer literacy and operational understanding
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Able to create and administer a task priority list based upon company needs
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Experience with ERP software, preferably Efacs and experience of working within a TS16949 Quality Management System would be advantageous.

 

This is a full-time (Mon – Thurs 8am – 5pm, Fri 8am – 1pm), permanent role working as an integral part of a team reporting directly to the Materials, Planning and Logistics (M,P&L) Manager, you will provide a high standard of purchasing assistance to the business, primarily through the company’s Efacs ERP software.

 

In return, the role offers a salary of £18,000 - £20,000 plus benefits package.

Finishing & Inspection Operators

 

Key tasks for the role include:

  • Performing light assembly operations as required by the manufacturing process in accordance with published work instructions
  • To visually inspect components to the standard specified by published work instructions
  • Reporting excessive or unusual defects noted during manufacturing or inspection operations
  • Assisting with initiatives to improve quality, efficiency or working conditions when required including gathering process data and /or participating as a team member in specific initiatives.

PRESS SHOP QUALITY AUDITOR x 1C SHIFT

 

A vacancy has arisen within the company for the role of Quality Auditor working within the moulding press shop.

 

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Auditor is responsible for ensuring that Fibrax products conform to manufacturing specifications.  In practise, this means the periodic inspection of all manufactured components with measurement and analysis of key characteristics where specified.

 

Excellent organisational skills and self-motivation are essential in this role. The successful applicant will be required to plan their own work and show initiative in responding to issues highlighted by the audit process.

 

The Quality Engineer will be required to measure and report on various aspects of Fibrax products, including dimensional conformance and ability to meet performance requirements. Please see the full job description for more details.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Good organisational skills and self-motivation.
  • A keen interest in the role with the ability to take the initiative.
  • The ability to work with minimum supervision after training.
  • A high quality and efficient approach to the job.
  • Good record keeping and a grasp of detail.
  • Basic computer literacy.

 

In addition, experience of working in a quality assurance environment would be advantageous though full training will be given in all aspects of the role.
